Wheels on leg

Once again we tested our stamina by visiting the place Bandaje falls and Ballalarayana durga. As usual  we received the mail from Navaneeth around one month ago from the date of trip (so that we make a proper discussion and plan).

This time we had a decent team strength of 8 people - Sharath, Abhilash, Rajesh, Amit, Abhijit, Rajendra, Shivaraj, Navaneeth.

Started at 12.00 am from Bangalore in a tempo traveler and collected tent bags from Navaneeth's friend Bharath (AWE adventures in FB). Only 7 people left from Bangalore Abhijith joined us in ujire (A city near to Dharmastala). As usual we had lots of fun in TT by jokes, songs and some serious discussion about current politics.

Our TT driver Ramesh had great chat with Abhilash  for whole night, He was so happy as we all are from karnataka and know kannada.

Not even we slept for half an hour we reached Dharmastala at around morning 5.00 am , had freshen-up and moved further to the place called Ujire where Abhijith joined us. After a long time we had BUNS as a break fast in a local hotel. It was around 8.00 in the morning when we left Ujire.

We reached Mundaje village around 9.00 O clock in the morning and took permission from the forest officer.

Good time to visit the Western ghats is from October to February, so we planed to visit this place in December. In this season you can find enough water and less leaches on the way.

In the way we found one beautiful tributary and had chilled water bath.

It was around 12.00 PM and its time to lunch (Taken chapathi and MTR koorma as a parcel). We prepared the local stove using the stone and started to boil MTR  koorma (I helped to prepare this, to our cooking expert Sharath). Finally we finished our lunch, filled our water bottle and started journey to further.

We got re-energized and started our journey further in the thick forest, after walking for around two hours we entered to a land of grass (It is called as elephant grass, almost equal to a man height) .The view over there was awesome and unexplained.

Around a walk of 10 minutes in grass-land we saw a beautiful "daughter of nature" it is one and only Bandaje falls (Bandaje falls- Wiki). She is so beautiful that I am not getting words to explain her beauty.

Ninnanthe Naanu tulukalare,

Adare.. Ninnandava Kanthumbikonda nanu,
Ninnanendoo Mareyalare........

It was around evening 5.00 pm  when we had second chilled water bath in Bandaje falls and started photo session near falls starting point.

Navaneeth, me and Rajendra started to search the location to put the sleeping tent (The place should be flat, safe and near to the water spot). Finally we selected the location after having lots of discussion and started to leveling the ground by shifting the small stones. When sun said "Tata bye bye" for the day we finished our tent fixing and stove arranging work.

In other side our cook expert Sahrath is ready with his cooking kits. Had tasty soup and maggie as a dinner and slept in our HUT PALACE.

The time was 6.30 am when I came out from the hut and we took one hour to get ready, Had coffee and bun as a break fast and started our journey further.

It is an easy way from Falls to Ballalarayana durga, the whole way you can see ballalarayana durga fort .So no guide is required for us to reach the destination (Anyways we had not taken any help from any one). Reached  Ballalarayana durga at around 9.00 am.

Ballalarayana durga is our last destination point, from there we proceeded towards Durgadahalli KalaBhairaveshawara temple, Sunkasale (Other side of the hill). As soon as we reached there our TT is ready to take us - back to Bangalore. The entire trekking was around 22 KM. While coming back we just had a visit to Belur and Halebidu temple.

Mr.Kishor Gowda (Ph: 08256202345) helped us to get the permission from forest officer and Sundar guided us in starting point (Ph:8762920653). It is always better that take a BSNL SIM mobile phone with you (almost every where you will get BSNL signal).
